Ensure availability and sustainable management of water and sanitation for all
Target 6.3 listed under SDG 6 in the UN Website Task 6.3 says “By 2030, achieve access to adequate and equitable sanitation and hygiene for all and end open defecation, paying special attention to the needs of women and girls and those in vulnerable situation”
AIM Initiative-Students led by Rinu Victor, Farzana Siyad, Liya Mary conducted a “ SHE CAMPAIGN” at Matha Nagar Public School ,GandhiNagar,Kadavanthra ,an awareness session highlighting the need for menstrual hygiene on the 15th February 2023.The class was attended by 43 girls of VI standard. During the session the importance of having vending and disposing machines of sanitary pads in school was highlighted as well as the usage of the same was demonstrated. The School administration was helped in preparing a proposal seeking funds for a semi- automatic vending machine. The students are also talking to sponsors to help the school get a vending machine
The way forward-The awareness class on vending and disposing machines of sanitary pads was informative and useful and we believe it will go a long way in helping the students of the school handle menstrual days. Students gained a better understanding of the importance of having these machines read
